Building boats?

The other day we had a very entertaining afternoon. In the morning we did some work in the classroom with Gavin and then at 1 o’clock we stopped to go to Monikie park. Two of us went by car and the rest of us had to find the right bus to arrive at the park at 2:30. There we had to get changed into neoprene’s as well as a  life jacket and then we went to the lake where we built out own raft with ropes, wooden frames and plastic barrels .

We then divided into two teams, girls and boys and then had a race around the lake until we reached the ‘pirate flag’. Because we ended being in a tie we did one last coopetition, each member of the team had to jump off the pier, and whoever had the longest jump would win.

It was such a fun day!

Crazy laser tag

On Thursday morning we did an exercise about prepositions, in English, wich we corrected later on.
Then at around 13:00 pm we began our journey to the laser tag centre. We had to get the 28 bus until the stop near ASDA and then we went walking to the laser tag place.

Once we were there we met Lucy, Kirsty and Tom as well as some other Scottish kids we didn’t know who were the rest of the kids playing in our game. In the first game we were divided into two groups, all the Spanish people in one team except Mangel, Ruben and Tom who were in the other one.

We played 3 games,  in a dark space with 2 buildings which we used to shoot from. Inside there was a lot of smoke as well. Once the first game was over, we had lunch at around 15:00 pm and then we went back inside.

Once the whole game was over, we had had so much fun we decided to play once again, only that in this case only the Spanish people, Tom, Lucy and Kirsty. Then the boys went back home by bus while the girls went by car.
It was a really exciting day, in which the boys won the final game. So I think it was one of the best days!

ST ANDREWS !

On Wednesday we went  to St Andrews. We caught the bus at the bus station and in a half an hour we were already there. We saw that we didn’t have too much time to do the work we were given back at the class so we didn’t spent too much time on each thing.

Here is a photo of us by the beach!

The first thing we did was visit the university, then we went to the beach where we took some photos, continue that way we could see the cathedral which is in ruins to finish we went to the famous golf course of St Andrews, we saw the The Swilcan Bridge that was smaller than we thought and was a big surprise to all of us!

The capital city

On Saturday we went to visit Edinburgh so we had to catch the train early at 9:40 am. When there were two minutes left for the train to arrive, our little classmate appeared so we had to run. The journey was one hour long and we passed over the rivers Tay and Fourth with the spectacular railway bridge.

When we arrived, we tried to enter the castle but it was impossible because of the queue. Meanwhile we took some typical tourist photos  of the traditional red telephone boxes.

We walked on the Royal Mile and passed different street entertainment

Then we decided to visited the Edinburgh museum where we also had our lunch break.  After a stop we went to the Harry Potter cafe where we took some photos of the toilets which were filled with quotes from the films Before we also went to the cemetery that the author of the Harry Potter books got some of the characters names.

In the afternoon, finally, we were in Edinburgh parliament and we took some great photos. The queen was there but we couldn’t see her!
At half past six we caught the train and we arrived in Dundee at half past seven. It was a great day!

The "Discovery" of Dundee

When we finished eating on Wednesday we went to the Discovery Museum in Dundee. It was built in Dundee in 1901 and it is one of the world’s most important historic ships which has made three pioneering scientific expeditions to Antarctic.
Captain Scott travelled to the Antarctic looking for scientific knowledge and faced temperatures of minus 50 C, winds of over 90 mph and icebergs more than 20 miles long.
First we visited the museum area which explained the history of the boat as well as it numerous trips! Once we then went into the boat there were model (real life) characters who mimic the life then, this is the most interesting part and we loved it.

Karting!

Keeping up with this years group isn't an easy task! Here is what they have been up to for the last couple of days..

Students posts
Yesterday was a nice day!
First of all we went to the academy, like we do everyday. We then decided to go karting but it was very far away which meat that we had to take the bus. Even though we knew that our bus was number 28 we ended up getting it in the wrong direction, and we were loss for an hour..
Once we finally we arrived we had to wait for another hour because another group had already taken our place . Despite this, we had a lot of fun and Maria was so fast she won all of the races. The only bad thing was that we were all very stiff the next day, but it was worth it!!

These are some of the pictures we took on the bus

GO KARTING!
Yesterday we went karting which was great, even though we got a bit lost on our way there!
The races were fantastic; with red flags, some collisions… typical Spanish things.. We tried to get the best lap time, but in stead , the students started to compete against each other.
After our three races, we were very tired and some of us, in pain.
We had a lot of fun!!!!😃 🏆🏁🚘
